An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hazelbury for an outstanding Nursery Assistant. In this role you will be working with a team to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for the children. You will work with groups or individual children to aid them in their learning, showing a good understanding of children’s needs. The ideal candidates must be flexible (as every day is different) adaptable and hard working. You will need to be a well organised person who can work independently and as part of a team and have the skills to build positive relationships with children and colleagues. We believe it is vital to invest in early education and in September our pupils will have access to a brand-new outdoor area in an extensive space that boasts fantastic creative and physical learning experiences.
We understand how important it is for staff and children to have access to modern technology, which is why we are a resourced Apple school - all members of staff are provided with Ipads. Children are engaged with a creative curriculum that makes use of our performing arts studio, music zone and creative hub. Our own on-site sports coaches provide our children with quality sport provision and fantastic extra-curricular opportunities. With a farm, pond and orchard on site, we are able to provide the children with creative outdoor experiences. We also have our very own minibuses, which all staff have the opportunity to be trained to drive.
Our ethos encourages a learning journey that invites children to be great citizens of the future. Our pupil voice is strong and we have embedded values that ensure resilience and independence. Children are encouraged to have a growth mind-set and we have a focus on mindfulness for both children and staff across the school. We are part of the Enfield Learning Trust, a partnership of successful primary schools in Enfield who have a shared motto, ‘be included.’
As part of the Enfield Learning Trust we are strongly committed to providing high quality professional development and career progression for all staff. We are constantly reviewing our practices to ensure that our staff can focus on what matters: providing a rich environment in which children can learn and thrive. We are able to offer significant opportunities to work in collaboration with colleagues at Hazelbury and across the Trust. At Hazelbury, staff are able to be involved with developments within the curriculum in areas that interest them. We encourage expertise and a staff that supports one another to develop their own practice.
The well-being of our staff is of paramount importance and we promote a healthy work-life balance. As part of the Trust, all staff are given access to Perkbox- an app that provides discounts on many high street chains. We provide staff with well-being days, an attendance reward scheme, as well as giving all employees access to a support hub. Hazelbury has its own staff gym on site, as well as access to yoga sessions for all staff.
Hazelbury provide opportunities to ensure that we value hard work and dedication. Ofsted commended this during their inspection, “You have put a strong emphasis on staff well-being and professional development”.
With easy access into central London, our school is ideal for candidates wanting to live in either inner or outer London.
In line with recent legislation, applicants must have a command of spoken English that is sufficient to effectively carry out duties of the role.
