Vision and Values
The Enfield Learning Trust was formed in September 2016. We have an established team of talented and experienced leaders who come together to form both the Board of Trustees and Executive Team. They align themselves with our educational values and have many years of applied experience. The trust is led by Sarah Turner, Executive Headteacher and CEO and Androulla Nicou, Executive Associate Headteacher and Chief Operations Officer (COO).
The ethos for the Enfield Learning Trust is strongly rooted in improving life chances of all children, where they can give and receive respect and have a strong sense of identity, well-being, worth and achievement. We will enable the children who attend our schools to develop skills and attitudes neccessary to prepare them to take their place in society.
Our schools will continually aspire to be high performing organisations and therefore will be:
- investment of choice for parents
- employer of choice for staff
Vision - Be Included
Our vision has distinct themes:
Inclusion for All - With four SEN Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs) and strong links with Chickenshed, an inclusive theatre company in Enfield, we ensure pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities get the very best possible provision. We try to meet the needs of all our pupils regardless of need. We have a particular strength in meeting the needs of Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
A Curriculum to Inspire Young Minds - Our curriculum known as the ‘Learning Quest’ has been developed to ensure that all our pupils are inspired to be creative and curious. Pupil voice is at the heart of our curriculum and pupils are encouraged to make choices in their learning to ensure a depth of understanding. Teachers use pupil ideas to plan exciting and engaging lessons, which use first hand experiences as a starting point and ensure that learning takes place beyond the classroom. Information Technology is used to enhance the learning opportunities for all our pupils.
Excellence in Leadership - Enfield Learning Trust develops strong leaders and builds upon the excellent and extensive leadership training provided by senior leaders under the umbrella of Enfield Teaching School Alliance (ETSA). Sarah Turner is a National Leader in Education (NLE) and has a proven track record in improving schools. Middle leadership is a particular strength and many middle leaders and senior leaders are Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE) attached to our teaching school. They have a strong track record of supporting others schools, which has been recognised in Ofsted reports. Effective succession planning models exist across the trust, which ensures that we have the capacity to support other schools. All governance in the previous schools has been judged outstanding and we have an NLG and an LLG within our current governors.
We are proud of our trust values, which are firmly embedded in all our schools. We feel these underpin the success of our ethos.
